Product Overview

Penicillin-Streptomycin-Amphotericin B Solution is a commonly used antibiotic solution in in vitro culture, also known as the "triple antibiotic". Among them, penicillin can interfere with the synthesis of bacterial cell walls and is particularly effective against Gram-positive bacteria; Streptomycin can bind to the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes and inhibit the synthesis of bacterial proteins. It is effective against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, but is particularly effective against Gram-negative bacteria; and amphotericin B can bind to ergosterol on the fungal cell membrane, causing damage to the cell membrane, increased permeability, leakage of intracellular substances, and disruption of normal metabolism to inhibit bacteriostasis, but is ineffective against bacteria. The combined use of penicillin-streptomycin-amphotericin B can prevent most bacterial and fungal contamination, but penicillin solution is sensitive to temperature and pH, and is easily degraded at room temperature. It is most stable at pH 6.0-6.5; streptomycin is relatively stable and is most stable at pH 5.0-7.5; amphotericin B solution is unstable at room temperature and is easily destroyed by light, heat and acid. It has the strongest antibacterial effect at pH 6.0-7.5.


Precautions


1. This product is sterilized by 0.1μm filtration;


2. When using this product, pay attention to aseptic operation to avoid contamination;


3. This product is a concentrated solution. Please dilute it as needed before use;


4. It should not be placed at room temperature for a long time or stored at 4℃ for a long time;


5. Thaw at 2℃-8℃, shake well before use, avoid repeated freezing and thawing, and it is recommended to be packaged and frozen when the amount is small;


6. This product is only for scientific research or further research, not for diagnosis and treatment.
