Balanced Salt Solution (BSS), also called Physiological Solution, is a combination of the buffering capacity of buffer, the isotonicity of physiological saline and the nutrient supply of culture medium. It has the functions of maintaining osmotic pressure, keeping pH stable and providing simple nutrition, and can meet the basic needs of survival and metabolism of tissues, organs or cells in in vitro experiments. Some balanced salt solutions also add a small amount of phenol red to indicate the change of pH value of the solution.
DPBS stands for Dulbecco's Phosphate-Buffered Saline, and its Chinese name is Dulbecco's Phosphate Buffered Saline. It is one of the commonly used balanced salt solutions in biochemical research. Its main components include NaCl, KCl, KH2PO4, Na2HPO4, etc. DPBS is divided into two types according to whether it contains calcium and magnesium ions. The difference from conventional PBS is that the phosphate content of DPBS is slightly lower. DPBS is mainly used in embryology research, and is mostly used for embryo rinsing solution, freezing solution and culture solution. In addition, glucose, sodium pyruvate, etc. can be added to DPBS to facilitate the growth of culture.
Precautions
1. This product is ready-to-use and can be used directly after 0.1μm filtration sterilization. No dilution or filtration sterilization or other treatment is required before use;
2. When using this product, pay attention to aseptic operation to avoid contamination;
3. Since the solution contains calcium and magnesium ions, a small amount of precipitation is easy to produce. Generally, the precipitation can be dissolved after warm bath; if there is a lot of precipitation and it cannot be dissolved, please give up using it;
4. This product is only used for scientific research or further research, not for diagnosis and treatment.
